The History of the Empire State Building

The Empire State Building has been in existence since 1931 and is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The building is 1,250 feet tall and is a landmark in New York City. John Jacob Raskob constructed the building with the help of architect Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon. The cost to construct the Empire State building was well in excess of $24 million dollars and it took over one year to build.

If you have not visited the Empire State Building you are missing something very special. The view is spectacular, especially from the observation deck of the 86th floor. The observation deck is open all year long for your enjoyment. Besides the view, there are some great retardants there as well as a coffee shop and a bank.

In all the years since the Empire State Building has been built, over 3.5 million people have visited this building. Besides the observatory tower on the 86th floor there is also another observatory located on the 102nd floor. If you want to visit the 102nd floor, the cost of admission is $15.00. If you are currently a member of the armed forces and come in your complete uniform, admission to the building is free.

For those people who do not have the patience to wait in line, you can purchase the ESP Express Pass. This is great for people who want to try to avoid the long lines. Additionally, you can also take a guided tour, during which you will have a tour guide with you the entire time.
