The Best Market In New York

The best market in New York has to be Chelsea Market. Chelsea Market is an enclosed urban food market and shopping mall. The building was the original Nabisco factory where the very first Oreo cookie was invented and produced. The complex houses 22 buildings over two city blocks. It covers 9th Avenue to 10th Avenue, and 15th Street to 16th Street. It has a retail concourse on the east side of 10th Street, in the structure. It has commercial space which includes the Oxygen Network, the Food Network, MLB.com, and NY1 (a local New York City cable station). Google is on the 2nd and 4th floors.
In 1997, retail stores were put in the building by connecting the back lots of the original, individual buildings, by a central ground level concourse with entrances on 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue. It has fresh fruit, gourmet dining, and wine stores that cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the city.
The restaurants and stores there are so impressive, you to have to go yourself to get a personal opinion, because critic reviews just won't do it. Just to name a few are, The Buddakan, Manhattan Fruit Exchange, 202 by Nicole Farhi, Amy's Bread, Fat Witch Bakery, Ruth's Bakery, Eleni's Bakery, Frank's Meat, The Lobster Place, and Chelsea Thai. No matter what your taste is, at any time, you will find it at Chelsea Market. It is great that all of these places are under one roof and available in the same area.
