When visiting New York, there are many stores, restaurants and tourist attractions to visit, but one place that cannot be overlooked is Central Park. Central Park is home to many attractions, events and even a zoo. The zoo, named Wildlife Conservation Society's Central Park Zoo, is more than five acres worth of animals. Surely, there is no way to get bored with a zoo this big.
Imagine your children's faces when they get to see giant polar bears, penguins and seals at "the polar circle". They will also see monkeys, snakes and birds at "the rain forest." There are many other animals in Central Park Zoo and the Children's Zoo.
Central Park has events set up every month for both members and nonmembers. Some public events include the Harlem Meer Social Hour, Family Craft Fridays and Summerstage. Harlem Meer Social Hour is a time for adults to meet with people like themselves. They can just talk and have fun. Family Craft Fridays, on the other hand, is a time for families to spend some time together indoors having fun and doing crafts. Lastly, Summerstage is a time when the City Parks Foundation holds a "free performing arts festival" in Central Park. This year, they will hold their 24th annual festival. There are hundreds more activities and planned events you can do at Central Park, so next time you are in New York, don't skip out on the fun.
