Movies Filmed In New York

New York City is a beautiful place and so it is no surprise that many great and wonderful films have been filmed in its boundaries. A couple of the more recent films that have been filmed in New York include the good cop, bad cop film "Pride and Glory" and the thriller "Righteous Kill", starring Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and the bad boy rapper known as 50 Cent.
"The Happening" is another film that features New York and is a sci-fi film about a moving force that is causing people to do extreme and dangerous things that ultimately result in their death. "The Day After Tomorrow" is another sci-fi film that was shot in New York. In this film, due to global warming and many other environmental issues, the world must now face the consequences. New York City is first shown being plagued by huge waves of water and then later frozen solid under ice and snow.
New York is also home to many of the classic superheroes that many little boys, and even some grown men, have come to love and idolize. Many of these superhero stories and comics have been made into films, including the X-Men series, The two Fantastic Four films, the Spider-Man films and the two Punisher films as well. Another hero film that was filmed in New York is the "World Trade Center," released in 2006. This film was made for the flesh and blood heroes of our day that put their lives on the line that one sad September morning.
Whether it is a gritty action movie, out of this world sci-fi or the heroes of our world, New York is the place where all the cinematic dreams come true.
