Movies Filmed In New York City

A few examples of the more recent films that have been filmed in New York include "Righteous Kill," "Pride and Glory," and "The Happening." "Pride and Glory" and "Righteous Kill," detail the threats as well as the dangers that police officers and other law enforcement agents face every day in their line of work. But these two films also show a darker side of the law enforcement agency, a side that isn't seen often but can happen when a good cop makes a very bad decision.

In the horror film "The Happening", strange incidents of suicide are happening all over the US! And after a high school teacher in Philadelphia hears of the strange happenings, he begins to try and figure out what is causing the events as well as staying one step ahead of the deadly and so far unseen thing that is causing the events.

New York has also been home to many of the superheroes that young boys grow up idolizing, including Captain America, The Punisher, Spiderman, and many, many others. Many of these superhero stories have also been adapted for film and been filmed in the New York area. For example, the X-men films, The Punisher and the two Fantastic Four films were filmed in New York.

New York has also been home another type of heroes, heroes that were there the day of the September 11th attacks in 2001, who put their lives on the line for the people still trapped inside the World Trade Center buildings. An amazing and emotional film that was filmed in New York made to honor these heroes and their undying courage is the 2006 film "World Trade Center."
